Susie Scheller, President
Washington Memorial Chapel Old Choristers’ Association was officially formed on October 1st, 2000. There is an active and enthusiastic membership which is closely involved in fund-raising activities on behalf of the Chapel Choir. It is looking to fulfill its aim of endowing its very own chorister.

Old Choristers' E-mail addresses

In May, 1998 the Choirmaster began discussing the need for the recently re-built program to have an English-styled Old Chorister's Association at Washington Memorial Chapel. Although several enthusiastic people volunteered to begin work on forming the Association, none of those involved had the time or resources to carry the project through and the initiative eventually petered out.

Membership is open to those who who have served as musicians in Washington Memorial Chapel Choir at one time or another. Primarily, of course, this means the choristers but we also include choral scholars, lay clerks and organists as well.

The Association’s main aim
is to maintain contacts
between the membership
and the memorial and its
present choir. To this end
various events are held each
year, including the most
important of which is the
annual Reunion Dinner,
preceded by Evensong in
the Chapel.

Other social events during the year vary in quantity, style and location. We enjoy a large "Alumni" presence at our Christmas Eve and Easter services, to which all Old Choristers are welcome. A special effort is being made to include additional events.
