Reading Questionnaire #11
Due: TUESDAY, April 22
Loebner Prize Contest Transcripts, 2003 (on-line)
Please answer each question in 2-4 sentences.
1. Every year, Hugh Loebner offers an award of $100,000 for any computer program that can convince a panel of judges that it is a human being. The transcripts you've read include conversations between a JUDGE (who is human) and a SUBJECT (who may be either human or computer in each case). Which transcripts do you think are discussions with HUMAN subjects, and which do you think are discussions with COMPUTER subjects?
2. How could you tell which ones were computers? How could you tell which ones were humans?
